Rich in history, Wawel Hill and Castle is a Polish national treasure. Located within Jurassic limestone rock, legend has it that there was a dreadful dragon that lived in a cave on Wawel Hill; its slayer Krakus’ daughter Wanda drowned herself in the Vistula rather than marry a German knight. To fully understand the history, a guided tour is highly recommended.
