Manu Biosphere Reserve is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site. Most of the reserve is indigenous land with inhabitants from the Yora, Mashko-Piro, Matsiguenka, Harakmbut, Wachipaeri and Yine communities. Biodiversity thrives throughout the highlands, rugged forests, streams, valleys, mountains, and Amazonian lowlands.
