Some call them “yanardagh” (burning mountain) or “bozdag” (grey mountain). There are 300+ mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan. Most mud volcanoes are small and temporary landforms, but the largest one in the world is also in Azerbaijan, measuring one km across the base and several hundred m in height.
